Caroline & Ryan | A Romantic Newport, Rhode Island Wedding by the Sea

Long before the August sun warmed the shores of Newport Beach House, and Caroline and Ryan tied the knot in Newport RI their love story began in a college classroom. They first met as sophomores in Marketing 101, forming a connection that deepened through long conversations after winter break. Their first date, pizza at Joe’s Squared in Baltimore, was filled with shy excitement and an undeniable spark.

Before a night out, Ryan orchestrated a proposal that was as thoughtful as it was personal. On the rooftop of their New York City building, he asked Caroline to marry him, setting the tone for an unforgettable evening. Later, Ryan surprised Caroline when they walked through the doors of their favorite Irish pub, to find all their family and friends gathered in celebration to toast the newly engaged couple. Every detail had been carefully planned by Ryan, making the moment both intimate and joyfully shared.

Looking ahead, Caroline and Ryan dream of traveling together, one day settling into life in the suburbs, and building a family rooted in closeness and tradition. Family and community have always been central to their story, and from the very first questionnaire they shared, they envisioned a wedding day that felt natural… Joyful, unscripted, and deeply meaningful. Their Newport celebration became the beautiful culmination of years spent growing side by side: best friends, devoted partners, and now, husband and wife.

Getting Ready in Middletown, Rhode Island

The wedding day began just outside of Newport in Middletown, where Caroline and Ryan spent the morning getting ready at nearby Airbnbs. Andrew joined Ryan and his groomsmen a few blocks down, documenting the quiet anticipation and camaraderie of the morning.

While Shannon spent the morning with Caroline who prepared alongside her mom and bridesmaids. The space filled with soft laughter and heartfelt emotion as the final touches came together. One of the most tender moments of the day came unexpectedly, when Caroline’s brother Jake saw her in her wedding dress for the first time. His excitement turned emotional almost instantly, and their impromptu brother-sister first look was pure, unscripted sweetness.

Soon after, Caroline met her dad in the garden for their first look… An intimate, emotional pause before the day truly began, followed by a joyful reveal with her bridesmaids. She was absolutely glowing.

A Ceremony at the Salve Regina Chapel Filled With Emotion

The ceremony took place at the Chapel at Salve Regina, a timeless and elegant setting for their vows. Ryan anxiously waited at the altar, and the moment he saw Caroline walking down the aisle with her dad, a smile spread across his face… One that reflected both relief and overwhelming joy.

The chapel was filled with emotion. Jake wiped away tears from the front row alongside the groomsmen, while both sets of parents looked on proudly as Caroline and Ryan exchanged vows. After sealing their marriage with a kiss, they were announced as husband and wife. The chapel filled with the sound of applause and the newlyweds recessed down the aisle, hands raised in celebration, joy radiating from every step. Outside, guests were greeted by a Del’s Lemonade cart, an iconic Rhode Island touch and the perfect refreshment for a warm August afternoon. Hugs were exchanged, congratulations offered, and guests lined up for frozen lemonade before continuing on to the celebration ahead.

Coastal Portraits Along the Newport Coastline

Before heading to the reception, we stopped at a private waterfront property for portraits with the bridal party. As if on cue, the wind picked up just enough to send Caroline’s veil dancing in the ocean air. Against the rocky Newport bluffs, her veil moved with effortless drama, creating a moment that felt entirely cinematic.

A Newport Beach House Wedding Reception

The evening celebration unfolded at Newport Beach House, a stunning Longwood Venues property set directly along the shoreline. Expansive windows open to the sea breeze made the space feel both coastal and effortlessly chic.

Guests enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres, a raw bar, and premium cocktails before drifting outside to the deck and lower lawn for corn-hole and sweeping ocean views. As the evening continued, everyone was invited to take their seats and the bridal party was introduced.

Caroline and Ryan shared their first dance as husband and wife, moving gracefully across the dance floor. Ryan twirled Caroline into a dramatic dip that brought the room to cheers. Heartfelt toasts followed, dinner was served, and the band filled the space with lively live music.

Then came the moment no one expected… Caroline jumped on stage, grabbed the microphone, and sang “Valerie.” Ryan joined her, tambourine in hand, beaming with pride as their guests went wild. It was a moment that perfectly captured who they are: joyful, magnetic, and deeply connected.

A Timeless Newport Wedding Celebration

From their emotional ceremony at Salve Regina to their beachfront celebration at Newport Beach House, Caroline and Ryan’s wedding was a true reflection of their love… Elegant, heartfelt, and filled with moments that will be remembered for a lifetime.
