If there were ever two people so undeniably meant for one another, it is Caroline and Emily. Their love story is one rooted in friendship, deep admiration, and a joy so infectious it radiates into every space they enter. From the very beginning, their relationship has been marked by laughter, warmth, and a genuine love for the people around them… qualities that defined every moment of their summer vineyard wedding at Shepherd’s Run in South Kingstown, Rhode Island.

If one word could define their wedding day, it would be elation. Not just happiness, but full-hearted, overflowing joy. On a warm and sun-soaked July afternoon, the South Kingstown vineyard came alive with laughter, emotion, and a sense of love that felt almost tangible in the air.

From College Friends to Forever

Caroline and Emily first met in college at Saint Anselm College, introduced by a mutual friend who insisted they needed to know one another. What began as an easy friendship soon deepened into something more. After Emily returned from studying abroad, a simple dinner together changed everything, and from that night on, they never stopped talking.

Their relationship grew through shared summers, family traditions, and a mutual love for the beach, laughter, and being surrounded by the people they love most. Emily knew Caroline was “the one” during a Fourth of July family gathering in Rhode Island, watching Caroline effortlessly connect with her large, close-knit family as if she had always belonged. Years later, Emily proposed on that very same beach, it was a moment filled with tears, surprise, and overwhelming love.

A Summer Wedding Day at Shepherd’s Run

Their wedding day unfolded on a beautiful July afternoon, with the vineyard at Shepherd’s Run glowing under the Rhode Island sun. If one word could describe the feeling of the day, it would be elation. Not just happiness but full-hearted, all-encompassing joy.

Emily began her morning at her uncle’s oceanfront beach house in Charlestown, Rhode Island. Overlooking the water, the energy was celebratory from the start. A flowing mimosa bar, playful family traditions, and lots of laughter set the tone. With the help of her mom and sister, Emily stepped into her timeless wedding dress, a classic silhouette with a simple skirt and an ornate lace bodice that felt elegant, effortless, and perfectly her. When she appeared fully dressed, the room erupted with cheers and happy tears. Outside her dad waited for her on the deck, their first look was so sweet. Her dad pulled her into a hug and looked her over in loving assessment, taking in her beauty with beaming joy and pride.

Meanwhile, Caroline was getting ready at Shepherd’s Run, surrounded by her favorite people in the bridal suite. Champagne flowed, music played, and the excitement was undeniable. Her sisters helped her into her dress while her mom carefully helped her with her jewelry. When her bridal party finally saw her, the space filled with celebration, dancing, and joyful tears. Shortly after, Caroline shared a sweet and heartfelt first look with her dad on the deck overlooking the vineyard, a moment that beautifully reflected their close bond.

A First Look Filled with Laughter and Love

Caroline and Emily chose to share a first look before the ceremony, a moment that felt both intimate and joyful. From inside the bridal suite, their wedding party looked on as the two saw each other for the first time that day. Laughter came first, followed by wide smiles and tender emotion; especially when they realized how similar their dresses were. In so many ways, they are reflections of one another: two souls deeply aligned, standing side by side exactly where they were meant to be.

Portraits followed throughout the vineyard grounds, capturing quiet, connected moments between the brides before gathering family and friends beneath the iconic tree at the front of the venue, a location they had thoughtfully chosen ahead of time.

An Emotional Garden Ceremony in South Kingstown

Their ceremony was one of the most emotional we have ever witnessed. Officiated by Emily’s uncle, it was filled with heartfelt readings, deeply personal words, and tears of joy from nearly every guest. There was an overwhelming sense of connection… not only between Caroline and Emily, but among everyone present to witness their union. Caroline and Emily exchanged their own personally written vows. As Emily listened to Caroline read her vows out loud, a huge tear rolled down hear cheek. We all felt it. As their Uncle pronounced them married they joined in a joyful kiss, and their guests erupted with cheers. Watching them recess down the aisle hand in hand, my shutter clicked away, as my own chest swelled with joy for them.

Cocktail Hour, Celebration, and a Night to Remember

Following the ceremony, guests gathered for cocktail hour in the gardens behind the main building at Shepherd’s Run. Signature drinks, passed hors d’oeuvres, and a raw bar set the scene as guests shared warm embraces with the newlyweds. A live painter added an artistic, experiential element, as they added brush strokes of color that began to tell the story of the ceremony.

The reception that followed was nothing short of unforgettable. An explosive wedding party entrance immediately set the tone for the night… energetic, joyful, and full of life. Caroline and Emily took to the dance floor twirling around as golden-hour first dance as sunlight poured through the massive windows.

With a live band keeping the dance floor packed, the evening felt both electric.

The décor was cheerful and understated, featuring abundant fresh flowers and greenery that complemented the natural beauty of the vineyard. Every detail felt intentional, elevated, and authentically Caroline and Emily.

A Wedding Rooted in Love, Family, and Joy

Caroline and Emily’s Shepherd’s Run wedding was more than a celebration ; it was a gathering of everyone who has loved them, supported them, and shaped their journey. It was a day filled with laughter, legacy, deep emotion, and the kind of joy that lingers long after the music fades.

A truly joyous Rhode Island vineyard wedding, and one we will never forget.
