WEDDING DAY DETAILS

Rianna and Zach tied the knot in Middletown Rhode Island in one of their favorite coastal communities. Their ceremony and reception were held at the Wyndham Newport at the Atlantic Resort where they exchanged their vows in front of views of the water and danced the night away under a chandelier of twinkling crystals.

THE BACK STORY

Rianna and Zach clicked right away, sharing many similarities. Time spent together never seemed long enough when the two were together. Zach, a full-time fireman, spent long shifts at the station. Being the girlfriend of a fireman can be a daunting role, but Rianna, the daughter of a Fireman grew up in the lifestyle of the Fire Department. As their relationship advanced and their love grew, it was clear to Zach he had found the “one”.

THE PROPOSAL

Zach knew he had met the love of his life and planned the perfect proposal. It was February, and snow was falling in Newport RI. They had plans to visit their favorite local get away, and Zach decided to take Rianna iceskating at the Gurney’s resort on Goat Island. Afterward they for a stroll over to the lighthouse where the views of the bridge were almost not visible through the thick winter clouds. There… with snow and love in the air, he got down on one knee and proposed to Rianna. Without hesitation she said yes!

ThE ENGAGEMENT

With Newport being such a special part of their story, it seemed only fitting to celebrate their engagement with portraits at the Historic Elms Mansion on Bellevue Ave. We were so excited to hang out with them for the evening and capture their engagement photos. Andrew and Zach hit it off sharing stories from their respective fire stations while Rianna and I chatted about the upcoming wedding plans.

THE WEDDING DAY

Continuing with their love of all things Newport they decided to tie the knot at Wyndham Newport Hotel. You could feel the anticipation growing as they got ready in their rooms. Rianna was having fun with her girls and Zach was down the hall waiting with anxious-excitement to see his bride. Soon it was time to head down to their First Look, but not before Rianna shared a special moment with her Dad in the garden. After hugging her father tightly, Rianna left the garden to meet Zach under the ceremony pergola. They enjoy an intimate first look out on the lawn. Zach turned to see his bride standing in the sunlight, looking radiant in her beautiful wedding dress. After sharing a private moment together they boarded a trolley with their wedding party and traveled a few minutes up the road to Chateau-sur-Mer for formal pictures. Afterwards they returned to the Wyndham and tucked away before guests began arriving for the ceremony.

With blues skies above and the perfect coastal breeze blowing in, Zach watched Rianna walk down the aisle to him. In front of the many friends and family attending they shared their vows and became Mr and Mrs. Kirkwood. It was the beginning of the next chapter of their lives together and they were so excited and thankful to celebrate it with those closest to them. Everyone in attendance could feel the love beaming off the two of them. Zach and Rianna’s wedding day was the celebration of the year! The dance floor remained packed all night long.
