Alyssa and John held their wedding on the sandy shores of Mystic Connecticut, at the beautiful Mystic Seaport Museum. Their New England coastal themed weddings featured hints of nautical decor and beach inspiration. Their day was filled with laughter as they celebrated with family and friends. We absolutely loved photographing their story.
From the beginning stages of wedding planning, Alyssa was excited and organized. I remember when she first contacted me to share the news that they were engaged! Alyssa had been following us on social media for a while… We were so excited to hear the good news! We planned their engagement session for a summer night in Boston. We headed to the Boston Seaport with their dog Max and took a stroll on the Fort Point Channel Harbor Walk. The views of Boston Harbor made for the perfect backdrop, and Max was such a sweet boy! Alyssa and John had the most amazing chemistry, you can see they are truly each other’s best friends. I knew their wedding day was going to be amazing!
September came and the wedding day arrived, Alyssa got ready in the cutest VBRO rental property. It was a quaint farm style house with a beautiful front porch that made the perfect spot for pictures.
Her wedding details were all so perfectly coordinated. Her wedding bouquet designed by Brambles & Bittersweet really complemented her nautical theme and went with her dress beautifully.
Alyssa’s Maggie Sottero wedding gown was timeless! Even her bridesmaids couldn’t contain their excitement when they saw her step out in her wedding dress! Those are the tears of true friends!
John and his groomsmen went to Waynes Barber! Don’t they all look so handsome? Nothing like a clean shave to start the most important day of your life!
The bride and groom met on the docks of the Mystic Seaport Museum for their first look. Alyssa walked to John with anticipation, they reached for each other with the biggest smiles on their faces.
I love the colors they chose for their wedding! The bridesmaids wore mauve dresses and the groomsmen sported blue suites.
If you want to make an entrance there really is no better way than picking a unique song for the processional. Alyssa walked down the aisle to an instrumental of the Jurassic Park theme song. Let’s just say I might have geeked out for a second (insert over excited photographer/fangirl)! The waterfront ceremony was sweet and simple. After they exchanged their vows they shared their first kiss as man and wife, and were surprised by a celebratory blow of the horn by a nearby boat!
Alyssa and Johns’s outdoor reception was held in the Mystic Seaport Museum. Their nautical theme was carried out through the rest of the day, with her DIY lighthouses and starfish centerpieces, and sailboat cake topper.
The celebration went on long into the evening, Alyssa and John danced the night away with their family and friends. Everyone had such a great time…It really was the perfect wedding day. #sheehansbythesea
