Mikayla and Colton Met in the winter of 2018. They shared their first date at a local bar and grill, where they spent hours talking to each other, not wanting the date to end. Mikayla said she knew right away that she wanted to see Colton again. The conversation was effortless, like talking to an old friend. It was clear to see they just clicked and the chemistry was tangible. After sharing their first kiss, Colton says he knew Mikayla was the one. Their next big date was a trip into the city to see a Bruins game and grab a bite to eat at Fanuel Hall. Their conversations always lasted for hours, they talked about the things they loved and their goals in life, and how they wanted the same things.
Every winter Mikayla and Colton plan a trip to stay in Stowe, Vermont. In February of 2023 they planned to stay in a farmhouse Air B&B and visit a few of their favorite places and restaurants. Mikayla and Colton are self proclaimed “big foodies” (my kind of people!). On their way up to Vermont Colton drove off the regular route to a covered bridge called the “Kissing Bridge” in Waterville, Vermont. They drove down the street and through the bridge, where he asked her to get out of the truck, so they could go check out the bridge. To her surprise he got down on one knee and proposed! Mikayla was elated and of course said YES!
Mikayla and Colton love going up North. Since it has such a special place in their hearts, it was the obvious choice for their Engagement Session. Andrew and I were excited to take them to one of our favorite locations at the top of Cathedral Ledge in North Conway, New Hampshire!
We began our session at Echo Lake with views of Cathedral ledge in the background. The weather was ideal, clear skies and sunshine… giving us that early evening glow we LOVE for portraits! Mikayla wore a flowy white dress, which was perfect for the rural location. When we finished at the lake we headed to the top of the ledge where Mikayla and Colton snuggled together against the breathtaking backdrop of the White Mountains.
We had the best time with these two cuties. With every click of the shutter I knew we were capturing what would be a new favorite photo of mine! They are adorable together, such genuinely kind souls. Their wedding day is going to be one for the books!
The big day is set for June 14, 2024 at the beautiful Barn at Gibbet Hill. Mikayla and Colton love grabbing a bite to eat at one of their favorite restaurants, the Gibbet Hill Grill. When it came time to finding the right wedding venue, they were looking for something rustic and fun, with great food and good views. Gibbet Hill was the perfect venue for them!
